To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Review:

If the cover and the summary hasn't already sold you the book, the first chapter will. Blaire bursts into your life packed with a nine millimeter gun, an old truck and twenty-dollars to her name. After Blaire's mom passed away, she was forced to turn to her estranged father (who left them when her twin sister died) for help. It's pretty obvious that it was really difficult for her to ask for help from her father since she's such a independent character. She took care of her mother while she was sick and no one was there for her when she was grieving, she was forced to get through all these things by herself and because of this, she's learned to be more guarded and cautious. I really understood the struggle that Blaire was going through, losing her mother and then having to move in with her father and his new family. That was probably a really big hit on her defenses, having to look vulnerable and helpless in the face of adversity.

Now enter Rush Finlay, the insanely hot and irresistible son of a famous drummer. Rush honestly reminded me of a mafia leader, he basically owned everything and could pretty much throw his own mother out of his house. Yeah, bow down to the super hot guy. The very first time he and Blaire met, I'd already decided that I hated him. He humiliated her and I felt so sorry for Blaire. Rush is exactly the type of guy girls went for; rich, hot and has a tongue piercing (oh myyy. *swoons*) Save for his attitude in the beginning, I totally fell in love for this semi-bad boy. As you read the book, you'll understand why he had to act that way and my heart honestly broke for him.

I have no idea how but Blaire manages to be both really naive and badass, when she's not pointing her gun at you, she's too busy being oblivious to the way men look at her. For a nineteen year old who has been through so much, she lacks some life experiences. Her naivete (or modesty?) is quite appealing and I guess that's the reason why she's so likable. Her independence is really something I admire about her, even though she lives in Rush's house, she still works and tries to save up so that she'd be able to leave and be less of a burden. She's terrified of being a "mooch" like her father and I guess that's what's driving her to work so hard.

Rush and Blaire's relationship is one gigantic house radiating sexual tension. Even though he was a grade-A a-hole at the beginning, you can really see the attraction and chemistry between the two. Two people struggling with their pasts find comfort with each other but there are just some things that you can't tell the person you love. I felt that it was unfair that Rush was being burdened by such a heavy secret, especially since it was a secret that affected Blaire and everything she knew. I felt sorry for the both of them and I can't really blame Blaire for the way she reacted. But like I said, my heart broke for both Rush and Blaire and I. Need. The. Next. Book. NOW. Please. I can't tell you how it ended but trust me when I tell you that the only way you'll cope is to have hope. That's all I'm banking on right now.

You'll really enjoy reading Fallen Too Far, it's a steamy feel good book that will bring about a lot of different emotions. You will cry, laugh and beg, beg, beg for more. You will love every single moment of it. Y'all definitely read this one!

  2. Great review!:) I must say, I got curious to read this when I saw the cover. This was my first Abbi Glines read and I thoroughly loved it! I liked how although Blaire has gone through so much in her life, she's trying to work hard and stay strong and she never wanted simply mooch off her father or Rush. She worked hard to provide for herself. The tension between her and Rush was just so frustrating and the end part just killed me!

    1. Thanks, Bea! I am SO glad that you loved Fallen Too Far as well! :D And I completely agree with you. You can really see Blaire's independence in this novel and you could see how difficult it was for her to ask for help from a man she no longer trusted. More power to Blaire, but during the end parts? I wanted to kiiiiill her. Poor, sweet Rush.
