Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read! :)
Q: What have you learned from book blogging that you didn't know before about the publishing industry?
A: I didn't realize until I started following authors that it took so long for a book to get published or to even get yourself signed into a publishing house. I understand now how insanely hard authors work but sometimes they don't always get rewarded for their efforts.
Leave a comment with your FF post and we'll check it out! :)
We follow back.
I know! It must be so stressful for writers. Thank goodness I just read their books. Gotta love the writers for keeping on trying, though!
ReplyDeleteHey Great F&F! New Follower.
ReplyDeleteI was reading on Kim Harrison's blog and it said that from writing to publishing, it can take like 2 years!! That's crazy!
My Feature & Follow
I know it is crazy how long it takes to get a book out and on the shelves. Never mind the writing process. Old follower PageGirlsPageofBookReviews
ReplyDeleteYeah, I never really knew the depth of the process either! It's crazy knowing it now!

Yeah, I think how hard it is to get published was something I never thought about before blogging. New GFC follower:)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I agree! And I wish that more people realized how much work it can be. Perhaps they would appreciate books more.

Authors do work hard, but we appreciate their effort immensely, right? :)

As an aspiring author myself, I know how hard it is. There is a long road ahead of me. I'm considering self-publishing because there are certain aspects (like the cover design) that I want complete control over. That's another thing. I've heard authors who are published by big publishing houses have very little say in the cover design. My debut novel, Twisted Time, is kinda my baby. I want everything the way I want it. lol.
ReplyDeleteMy answer to the question was ARC's. I had no idea before I started book blogging what an Advanced Reader Copy was. Very great promotional tool :) Happy reading!
