Waiting On Wednesday (1)

Waiting on Wednesday/s are hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine in which you choose a book or books that you're excited and waiting for.
This week's Waiting on Wednesday book is:

Title: Across the Universe
Author: Beth Revis
Publication date: January 11th' 2011
Pre-order the book: Amazon / Barnes and Noble

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

  1. You know what? I'm going to type out the UK blurb from my new ARC that I received in the mail today, courtesy of Erin @ Penguin AUS:

    ~~~
    AMY HAS LEFT THE LIFE SHE LOVES FOR A WORLD 300 YEARS AWAY.
    Trapped in space and frozen in time, Amy is bound for a new planet.But fifty years before she's due to arrive,she is violently woken, the victim of an attempted murder. Now Amy's lost on board and nothing makes sense -- she's never felt so alone.
    Yet someone is waiting for her. He wants to protect her; and more, if she'll let him.
    But who can trust amidst the secrets and lies? A killer is out there -- and Amy has nowhere to hide . . .
    ~~~

    I think the UK gives off a different impression of the book. The colours are SLIGHTLY brighter on the computer, but the cover is still insanely beautiful. Oh, another difference, is the tagline is "Thet're so close, but still so far away".

    And yes, I featured AtU for my WoW post this week. I like to brag. :)
