tick, tick, tick, tick, tick
it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

Review:
Wow.
This entire review could be summed up to that one explosive word. Why wow? Well, because of all the revelations, surprises and intensely exciting scenes or rather, chapters Unravel Me had, I'd have to day that it definitely did not fail my expecting imagination. WOW.
I would like to admit though that at the beggining, Juliette was such a major female doggy. She was so whiny and cranky and rude and... uncooperative that I really just hated her. It came to a point where I thought about stopping or just quitting the book entirely because I thought it would be one of those books... You know, the sequel we could have lived without. But just as I was about to toss the book aside, the real action happened. It wasn't like a BOOM! fight scene or BOOM! revelation. It was more like... "Eh... wait... what... What?!...WAIT!!! AAAH~!!" *insert freaking out here* Or something along those lines (or episodes, if you wish). You could really feel the tension balloon up, and when it came to a point of bursting, it just... burst and burst and burst. Like simultaneous time bombs. O.o
What I did love though, was how slightly predictable but still unpredictable the plot twists were. I know it sounds crazy, but do you know the little voice in your head saying... "maybe he isn't the bad guy." or "the quiet one's the evil guy." or even "maybe they're siblings". Yes, just like that. The whole Warner-Juliette-Adam triangle really heated up more now that we know some huge things about these three. *sly smile* But for the record, I LOVE Warner. If bold, underlined and italicized doesn't stress out this word enough, I don't what can.
I really don't know how to describe this book without getting too much into the details. One thing I can say and remember though, is that: NO ONE DIES. Here you go, Louisse. You can now sleep in peace.
This is a definite must-read if you liked, loved, adored or worshipped Ms. Mafi's first book, Shatter Me. (and even if you didn't like Shatter Me, why not give Unravel Me a shot? Why not? Every book is different in its own way. *toothy grin*)
P.S. Although I DID provide a teeny spoiler at the end, it doesn't make that big of an impact to the excitement rating because I just said no one died... other things could have happened to these people. *saucy wink*
Shatter Me was awesome, and I can't wait to get to this one.. I had suspicions that Adam, Warner, and Juliette were connected in a major way, and after reading this review, I'm even more curious! Glad you enjoyed :) Great review!

Oh are they connected! Hahaha! Hope you enjoy this one! :)
DeleteThanks for leaving a thought!
Haha! I didn't want to drop the b-bomb on Juliette. :D I'm happy that she did get better, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! :)
LOVED Shatter Me and I'm dying to read Unravel Me. Glad you warned to stick with the slow beginning, though--I'd have hated to open one of my most anticipated books this year to Juliette's crap-out and not know that the second half makes up for the first. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi! I know this is from a long time ago, and you might not see this comment, but is there any possibility that you would be willing to trade this ARC of Unravel Me? I’m in love with Tahereh Mafi and her books, and I would be so thrilled if this would be possible! Thank you so much!
