Review: Firelight by Sophie Jordan

Review:
I loved Firelight with a PASSION. I absolutely positively loved it. I'm all mushy inside just thinking about this book~ I had high expectations for this book and it did not fail to satisfy those expectations. The idea was very, very unique. I mean, have you ever heard of the heroine being a dragon? Not like those lame-ass vampires, this one is a dragon. (I am now resisting the urge to call them losers.) Jacinda has to be one of my favorite heroines of all time. I repeat: Of all time. I really loved the way Jacinda/Miss Jordan detailed everything. Like whenever Will would appear and Jacinda would feel herself manifesting, it's just amazing. I loved the way she had one of those total b*tch*s in her book; Brooklyn. Out of all the characters I hated Tamra the most. She would always blame her sister for everything just because she's jealous that Jacinda is more special than she is. I absolutely despise Tamra, throughout the whole book I just wanted to kill her. But her presence did not stop me from completely enjoying this book~ I also loved Will and Jacinda's relationship. The fact that she would try to ignore him but end up unable to stay away from that incredibly delish boy. *wink wink* I want my own Will. Like, NOW. There's something about his desperation and need for Jacinda that makes him incredibly sexy. Jacinda and Will's relationship was incredibly intense, as if they couldn't live without each other. It was very adorable and frustrating at the same time. The fact that Jacinda would always dodge will sort of pissed me off. But overall I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! I recommend people to read this SPECTACULARLY AMAZING book!!! The ending was sooo EVIL!!! I can't believe I have to wait until next year for VANISH! Hmph. Still I love this book~ You guys should check it out. :)

Yes!!! Hell Week Is Over!!!

HELL WEEK IS FINALLY OVER!!!

Finally. It's over. The week we've been dreading every quarter. Is over and done with. *pants* Hell Week!!! Hell Week is basically our Periodical exams, where the whole all we do is stuff our heads in our books. Luck for us (Keila and I) we don't need to study. Yes, yes, we're slackers. We know. Since it's over I'd like to CONGRATULATE all those who've survived this insanely cruel week. :) Bravo! We should crack open a fresh bottle of wine and drink it like there's no tomorrow.
Well...

We would BUT we'll having regular classes again tomorrow. Crap. We're all about getting drunk! LOL
*sigh* And we still need to see if we ACTUALLY passed our tests. Just thinking about them makes me want to bawl! /(;_;)\
Well, whatever, the past is the past. (But please, please let US graduate...) Let us just hope I passed my tests and so did Keila, good luck to you! :)

Well... That's it! :D
Please enjoy this hilarious video while I ago wring my neck-- I mean cower in anticipation. Right~ :))

Life Is Good Award

This is our SECOND blog award!!! Yay! XD I feel so touched and incredibly glad! (Yes, I'm becoming emotional. That's how I roll.) Thanks a ton to Claire from YA Bookie Monster for this award. *applause* You rock! :D It's cool how people actually care about our blog. We just started last August and we already have wonderful feedback. :) Thanks, guys.

Here are a few rules you need to follow when recieving this lovely award:
- Thank and link back to the person that gave this award.
- Answer the 10 survey questions.
- Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic.
-Contact the bloggers you’ve picked to let them know about the award.

Here are the questions:
1. If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
A: Blogging anymously seems cool enough. I mean, I could be like The Phantom Blogger! But if I had started blogging anonymously I would definitely stay anonymous because I didn't start blogging to be famous, I mean if given the choice I would love to blog anonymously but you know I wouldn't meet great people if I had. Since Blogger doesn't carry an "Anonymous" app then... That kinda sucks. It would be really cool if they did. :)

2. Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side:
A: Probably when I'm having my "debate" with Keila. Our debates are known to be a war zone. She would be on this side (the losing side) and I would be on the other (the winning side). I stick to my answer and I never give up until I prove her wrong. Which is practically most of the time. (To Keila, please skip this question.)

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
A: When I look in the mirror I see an awkward girl. A lot of people have told me that I'm pretty or how polite I am. I mean I'm flattered and all but does physical appearances really count? I don't find myself pretty to me, I look like a normal person. When I look in the mirror, I ask myself, "Louisse, are you really pretty?" But to this day, I still haven't found the answer. I try my best to be polite and I don't expect people to really compliment me... So I guess whenever I look at the mirror I see an awkward girl trying to be normal, trying to not live in her own little world. Next question, please!

4. What is your favourite summer cold drink?
A: Coke Lite. Period.

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
A: I sleep. I bet you're wondering why I didn't say I read. Well, mainly because I always have time to read. :) I'm always exhausted from school, that's why I sleep at around 7 PM or so on weekdays. (No later than 9 PM) My mom says I should try staying up late sometimes. :)) Yes, yes, I know I'm way lazy.

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
A: I'm only thirteen I still have a lot to accomplish. Like getting a graduating, getting a boyfriend (not necessarily), meeting new people, etc. :)

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever , the shy person, or always ditching?
A: I was once a class clown but now it's Keila. She's freaking hilarious, even our teachers say so. I was never an overachiever, like I said I'm a lazy person. I basically don't study but I do pass my exams. I was also NEVER the shy person. NEVER. I'm loud and boisterous. :)) I would love to try and ditch classes but I can't. We study in a private Catholic school that's incredibly strict.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see?
A: I have no idea what the heck 'poignant' means. Sooo... I'm skipping this one. Peace!

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
A:I can share my true self easily. It's not that hard. :) Each post or vlog a person makes shows who they really are and how creative the are.

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
A:Read. And by the way, I read lying down. Most of the time. :) I don't really talk on the phone. I know, In weird that way. :)

The 15 people I chose to pass this lovely blog award to (in no particular order) are:
•Mavie from The Bookologist
•Kai from Amaterasu Reads
•Royce from {... is a book whore}
•Andye and Amy from Reading Teen (The Reading Teen crew)
•Len from Musings of a Reader Happy
•Nancy from The Lush Budget Productions of a Ravenous Reader
•Kristi from The Story Siren
•Carolina from Carol's Prints
The Paperback Dolls
•April from Good Books & Good Wine
•Brent fromThe Naughty Book Kitties
•Eleni from /-la femme readers-/
•Meaghan from A Bookworms Haven
Bewitched Bookworms
•Lisa from A Life Bound By Books

Since I put bullets I have no idea if that's fifteen... Well, whatever. :))
These are the wonderful people I chose!!! XD
Cheers!!! *raises a can of Coke Lite*
Each of you deserve a cookie and a hug! :)

Hugs and Cookies,
Louisse

Review: He's With Me by Tamara Summers

Summary:

Lexie has always had a crush on Jake, her brother Colin's best friend. But she knows Jake thinks of her like a sister, and has never made a move. But when beautiful alpha girl Bree McKennis sets her sights on Jake, he has to come up with a plan to turn her down...without incurring the wrath of the most popular girl in school. That's when Colin comes up with the plan: Lexie can pretend to be Jake's girlfriend. But Lexie has never had a real boyfriend, let alone a pretend one! Can she manage to convince Jake that they're meant to be...and avoid getting killed by Bree McKennis?

Review:

I love how this book has the slightly predictable and typical romance story. You know, The boy-is-best friend-then-they-pretend-to-be-together-then-end-up-actually-liking-each-other-plot. I love how cheesy it is and it was packed with humor and drama and so much other mushy stuff. I admit I'm a romance type of reader. (all of us have one) Lexie is a girl with A LOT of insecurities but when Jake comes, all of those seem to disappear. Hands Down, all though the book was a short one, it definitely made a mark into my mind. And that's what I find very special in some books. They make you remember the scenes and makes you giggle and feel all tingly inside. Just like how a real romance story should be.

ARC Review: Angel by L.A. Weatherly

(Click for Synopsis)

WARNING: This may contain some spoilers about how awesome Alex Kylar is... But you know, he's way hot!!! XD

Review:

Okay, I don't even know how to express how much I love this book... Okay, I lied, I do.
I effing loved this book so much I think I might cry. It's a very different take on angels and the cover is just: WOW. I really enjoyed it but at the first few parts I found it quite boring and dragging. And I have to say Willow is quite a boring character until Alez cones along. Oh my gosh, Alex~ If I could just pull him out of the book and- Ahem. I'll try to keep this review on the PG-13 scale. I love Alex, and I have to say this: If Willow ever wants to brawl for him, I'm all ears. Alex is an amazing character, yes I know I should be saying stuff about the main character but you know... He's hot. His past haunts him and keeps people at arms length but boy is he a kisser. Alex and Willow are a very active couple (and no, they don't have intercourse). But I love this book nonetheless. I was very fortunate to have won an ARC of this amazing book. I would really like to thank Ms. L.A. Weatherly. *smiles* I can't wait for the next book and I do hope they release it here. And I have to say: It is true L.A. Weatherly did recreate the Angel. Bravo!

Review: The Squad by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Review:

I first discovered The Squad at Ally Carter's blog and I decided to read them. As you can see from the title it's a spy book and I love spy books. I'm a huge fan of Ally Carter and I enjoyed this book. I love how the cheerleaders are spies and how secretive they are. I especially love the romance, adorable! Jennifer Lynn Barnes takes you to a new level of sisterhood. I enjoyed this book and I'm sure you will too.

Review: Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

Title: Blue Bloods
Author: Melissa de la Cruz
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Publication date: March 27th 2007
Buy the book: Amazon / Barnes and Noble

When the Mayflower set sail in 1620, it carried on board the men and women who would shape America: Miles Standish; John Alden; Constance Hopkins. But some among the Pilgrims were not pure of heart; they were not escaping religious persecution. Indeed, they were not even human. They were vampires. The vampires assimilated quickly into the New World. Rising to levels of enormous power, wealth, and influence, they were the celebrated blue bloods of American society.

The Blue Bloods vowed that their immortal status would remain a closely guarded secret. And they kept that secret for centuries. But now, in New York City, the secret is seeping out. Schuyler Van Alen is a sophomore at a prestigious private school. She prefers baggy, vintage clothes instead of the Prada and pearls worn by her classmates, and she lives with her reclusive grandmother in a dilapated mansion. Schuyler is a loner...and happy that way. Suddenly, when she turns fifteen, there is a visible mosaic of blue veins on her arm. She starts to crave raw food and she is having flashbacks to ancient times. Then a popular girl from her school is found dead... drained of all her blood. Schuyler doesn't know what to think, but she wants to find out the secrets the Blue Bloods are keeping. But is she herself in danger?
(Image and summary taken from Goodreads.)

Review:

Blue Bloods has a different perspective on vampires which I found was more appealing than Stephenie Meyer's sparkling vampires. But Blue Bloods was released at a time where vampires were all the rage, which urged me to read it. I'm not gong to lie and say I didn't enjoy it, I did, but I didn't like the incest part. The fact that they were siblings and they would marry each other unnerved me. But the whole concept of Blue Bloods is very... Interesting. I think that's all I have to say. I'm neutral, I don't love it, I don't hate it. I'm deciding whether to get the second book or not.
